We bought this to replace a FOUR bulb fluorescent fixture in which I had inserted four Philips LED tubes. Having almost had a fire, in another room, because of incompatibility between Philips LED tubes and fluorescent "ballasts," we no longer felt safe even though it had worked well for several years. We wanted an LED replacement fixture at least equivalent to four x four foot fluorescent bulbs. NOT easy to find! Amazon filters did not work well for this search.After wading through too many unsuitable fixtures on Amazon, we found this and took a chance. We are VERY pleased ... so far (it's been up about one week). It is surprisingly bright and easily equivalent to four x 40 watt fluorescent bulbs. According to the documentation, it is equivalent to 250 watts. I cannot confirm this.The color temperature, 4000°K, is a scientific description of the color of the light. It is somewhat warm without being overly yellow. it is perfect for a kitchen because it enhances the color of most foods. You can see a bit of this in the color of our honey oak cabinetry in my attached photo. BTW, it is excellent for our orange-brown floor and wall tiles.Unlike our previous fixture, this fixture provides light distribution from the sides and well as the bottom.As for ease of installation, the only minor difficulty was placement of the light diffusion lens after mounting because of the placement of rivets holding the ends in place.Provided that this fixture has a LONG, useful, lifespan, I am very pleased.
