Okay, here’s the skinny on this chandelier: first off, the finished product is beautiful. It is good quality and the crystals are real glass, not acrylic. I’m extremely pleased with its size and appearance. Here are the not-necessarily ‘downsides’ of it, but issues you should be aware of BEFORE you purchase this…The reason it is half the price of similar quality competitors chandeliers is because it is COMPLETELY disassembled. I mean, electrical-wire-in-a-baggie-stuffed-in-the-box level of disassembled. The wiring instructions are not included. The only instructions are what lettered bag of crystals hangs on which part AFTER it’s assembled. They include a YouTube video link to help with the wiring but it’s minimally helpful. Here’s how you do it: look closely at the piece of clear wiring they provide and you will see or feel that there is a small notch on one side of it. That notched half of the wire is the neutral wire. Notched: neutral. Smooth: live. You’ll need that information when you install it in your ceiling. After you bolt all of the arms in place and they each have two fine wires hanging out, grab ONE wire from each arm and tape them together with a piece of electrical tape to keep them contained, (don’t tape over the exposed ends, you’ll need those in a minute). Then gather the remaining wire from each arm together and tape them together. Now, split the main wire they provided a couple of inches (after you’ve pushed it down through the body of the fixture) and use the provided wiring caps to join one arm wire bundle to one side of the main wire, and the second bundle to the other half of the wire. It doesn’t matter which one is which at this point. This is the part it looks like most people have struggled with. If you watch the YouTube vid they recommend, it will give a visual to what the finished wiring should look like. Then you carefully replace the base of the chandelier and the hardest part is done.At this point I recommend you install the fixture where you want it to go permanently and test it to ensure you’ve wired it correctly and it actually works and the chain is the right length (you can adjust it shorter) BEFORE you put all the crystals on it. It is extremely heavy, awkward, and delicate once the fine-wired crystals are all hung.I’ve never had to wire anything up before, and I managed to figure out how to properly wire it AND I converted it into a plug-in fixture for my specific needs, so I believe anyone, just about, could figure it out. Hopefully my write up helps. As far as some of the complaints I’ve seen about quality or not providing enough material to do it correctly, that was not my experience at all. They provide exactly the right sized piece of main wire to do it correctly. I also recommend weaving the wire in and out of the chain for a neater appearance so you don’t have loose wire outside of the chain. The wire is transparent and blends right into the chain. The little metal rings that connect all the crystal pieces are very delicate but totally fine for their purpose. They are more than strong enough to hold it all together beautifully. Are people wanting to swing off the thing?? They are thin so they blend in, thicker wire would be much more noticeable and would detract from the overall beauty of the fixture. As far as difficulty of assembly, I think the rating of 6/10 is probably appropriate. But, hopefully my run-through will make it a little easier for the next person. It took me about an hour to wire it up, and another couple of hours to place all the crystals. Not too bad, I’d 100% do it again for the price, quality, and appearance.I got mine for my enclosed chook palace, because my poultry thinks it’s fancy af. Don’t be put off by this fixture, it’s gorgeous…This is magnificent! looks great in dining area. please follow video on Youtube to put together though. Not hard at all, instructions are goo too. make sure you measure the room. The 10 light is good for a 12x10 room.Da un poco de brega armarla, pero vale la pena! This was a great value buy and I thought, well how hard could it be, I found out quickly that it is hard to assemble and hard to install.First of the assembly, these electrical wires going to individual bulbs have to connected and, also the one half of the electrical wire has to be included in that bundle of 11 wires x 2 and when the bottom bowl has the slide the nut through this mesh of wires and if one gets crimped, it will creat the short and say good buy to that bulb. I have 2 bulbs that got their wires toasted and Hendrix no light unless I rewrite those bulbs. The other problem is hanging this large piece of delicate glass thingy to ceiling and the provide hook with plate is very no standard and it has to finagled with the existing top plate to make it accept this hook plate. All in all it was a long process to get it right it looks very pretty minus two bulbs. It’s a beautiful chandelier, very elegantI cannot describe in words its worth the money...this chandalier should cost much more. So sparkly! We struggled the most with the wiring which turned out not to be very difficult because the - and+ are on the black part so once woven through you can just tug on one to figure out what they are. It’s stunning but we haven’t fastened it to the ceiling yet.
