Phone app requires Location and Bluetooth access but it's not necessary. It will work fine just via the local wifi network.Overall, I am pretty satisfied. Probably will buy another 10 panels when it's on sale.The app is easy to use, the lights themselves can be programmed or set, static or in motion. They can be low and soothing or bright for desk work. I really like these.Their customer service and of course products are great.I own a bunch of Govee stuff... rope light, table lights, light bars, floor lamp... but this one is my favorite. The most challenging part of the installation is deciding on your pattern. Once you have that and get the first tile placed, it's just a matter of building from there. With the app, you have choices of a variety of beautiful light scenes making your wall become a light show of art. Beyond that, Govee makes quality products and you can see that in the engineering of every piece of this light.I love the look of these hexagon panels on the wall. They're super bright and look amazing. But the adhesive that it comes with is terrible. They keep falling off the wall so I'm replacing them with 3M velcro strips.They work as needed and I like the various settings. They're easy to use and have fun settings.You will want to mount them with something solid, the adhesion pads it comes with are absolutely terrible. The lights that I've used them on would constantly fall off. I had one set over a guest bed and they fell off on my guests in the middle of the night.Product is simple to install and the app works perfectly. Essential for any gaming setupThey lights add character to your room, I used this in my basement and it’s the first thing you see when you enter.
